FAQ

What does an Eye Exam Cost?

Our fee for a comprehensive eye examination is $110.00. We claim up to $58.55 of that amount to Medicare for you, to reduce the cost of the appointment. Once claimed, the rebate only takes 2-3 business days to enter your nominated account with Medicare. Your rebate amount is dependent on your eligibility.

When will I be eligible for the higher rebate again?

Every 36 months if you are under 65 years of age.
Once every 12 months if you are at least 65 years of age.

Do We Offer Bulk Billed Eye Tests?

In 2015 several changes were introduced by the federal government that impacted the optometry industry benefits. Due to these changes, we were required to amend our claiming procedures that reduced our ability to bulk bill for patients. However, there is a significant portion of fees that can be claimed for an Eye Exam by Medicare (Up to $58.55) to reduce the cost of an appointment.
